I have a pitcher with great splits but limited endurance...I get about 150-160 innings out of him- but am I using him to the best of his ability? Is there a better way to utilize him?

i like how you're using him, maximizes his innings...others will probably wanna make him a closer or a setup man...i have no problem with a 5 inning starter...

Looks like you're using him just fine. Get as many innings out of him as you can. With 24 durability, he's basically a starter anyway, and the pitch count you have him on seems to be producing good results.

I wish there was a way I could put him on some kind of conditioning regimen...I'm sure he leads the world in no decisions...if he had a gigantic butt I would think he is the equivalent to Sid Fernandez- El Sid was great for 5 innings before he ran out of steam...

With somebody that good I would be tempted to micromanage my lineup and have him as the Tandem B guy with like 50-70 pitches with a pull of 4 and have him pitch the last 4-5 innings every 4th or 5th game... but I dunno. You're getting a lot of innings out of him, so it might be foolish to mess with what's working.

i'd definitely want him starting the game instead of entering and having to clean up somebody's mess...it's a waste if he has pitch in the 5th inning of a blowout.

one idea is to put his autorest at 99, pull at 1, 50/60 PC and stick him on setup A. he'll probably be good for 3 IP once every 3-4 games...he only gets 140ish IP instead of his current 160, but he'll mostly be used in higher leverage situations.

not that i would definitely do that over starting him, but i'd give it consideration.

Agreed. The only other way I'd use him is as a 35 pitch, two inning closer. But you'd only get 80-100 IP out of him that way. Better to maximize innings. When his ST/DU drop some, you can always move him to the pen.

I'd use him as a personal assistant or to fetch my laundry because it looks like he's done for the season with bone spurs.
