realistically, where can you jump in at D1 with A loyalty and a good reputation? Can you only start in a low major like the Big Sky? Or Can you come in at a mid major, like the A-10, if the school has a D reputation?

it all depends on how much success you've had. if the highest prestige you are eligible for is D type schools, you won't be eligible for the "better" conferences. for the a10 i would think to get a D school, you would have to be eligible for the C- run of the mill schools.

it is possible to jump directly into the big 6, i've been qualified for B prestige big 6 schools for most of my recent career. definitely not the fastest way to get there though. i personally would stay in d2 until you can pick up a quality d/d+ school at least (meaning many of the returning players are suitable, not anything to do with the conference or baseline prestige).

I have done this also, but you have to have a lot of success at your D2 school and it helps if you've had a lot of success for a long period of time.

Well, psuarva, as they say, you need success to move to those programs. Unfortunately, you don't have that in your current program, so the best you are looking at are D or D- schools in some pretty weak confrences... Your choices add up to either jumping to one of those schools (not the worst since they are mostly ghost and give you a better shot at moving where you want) or sticking it out at Lock Haven (which could take just as long concidering your current and past success). Making the NT might get you up to a solid D school, but in general you've got just as far to go at Lock Haven as a new school, you are losing most of your decent players this year on a very average team.

a little harsh in my opinion, I have an important recruiting class coming up and I am well aware I need to stay at Lock Haven until the 1st 2 seasons are well behind

Sorry if it seems that way, I'm just looking at your sophs and don't see much post scoring, perimeter or defense. You do have a soph SG that is doing well due primarily to his speed, but I don't know that I'd expect a great run from them. I'm also concidering that they have the bulk of their potential behind them (close to 60%).

I'm not saying they are complete crap, I'm just saying that I'd rather take my chances in a low D1 rebuild compared to hoping they make a deep run in two years so I could MAYBE bypass that step. Not only would they need a run, you'd likely need at least one other deep run to be qualified for the schools you are looking at for your jump and I'm just not seeing that happening any quicker than the rebuild with the players you currently have. Remember, it's not making the NT that matters, it's winning when you are there. Stack your team against the top 25 RPI and concider if you think your sophs will be at their level in two years, and more importantly whether you can get other guys in to follow that up the following years.

Either scenario you are looking at a minimum 3 years to get to your mid-major. The low D1 rebuild in this scenario is a much more logical/safe bet.
