Cory Thomas
I was wondering if I should promote this guy to the bigs for next season. After 1 year, he is on track to be a stud SS, but I could use him as a starting 3b plus his bat right now is better than most of my team. I already had him as the 2nd or 3rd best player in the organization at the start of the season.

If you're a playoff team or on the brink of it and he could help I could see bringing him up. If not leave him down for some more seasoning, his batting eye could use some improvement...

Only if you are planning to play him at 3b. He's a 40+ error, SS with a ton of (-) plays as well.

Or put another way - great bat, not a SS. Not even close. Probably never will have the defensive ability to play SS; might be an OK 2b, but more likely a very good 3b.

I believe in once a stud prospect is better than your next best option at the big league level, bring him up.

So I am guessing I will move him to AAA and promote him after 20? games to get an extra year out of him. But is it best to make all my roster move for next year as soon as my rookies get done in the WS, before roll over, or to wait until ST next season?

And I cant get an accurate read in just one season, but I am showing Cory Thomas to be a 90 + glove and acc using my projections. I need two years to be within a few points, but I am pretty sure of those 2 rating. What are the chances of getting 10-15 points in range and strength with no growth in the 1st year?

The "physical" tools, including range and arm strength, do not improve during the season. Once you have gone through one rollover, you'll have a much better idea of how those will develop. I'd expect this kid to be a decent SS if he develops fully.

I'd also keep him in the minors longer rather than rush him, but that's a judgment call.
