I'm a D3 A+ prestige school. I have 5.5k to spend on one player. I gave a player a call and he gave me the back up message after the first cycle, but two D2 teams are already being considered after the first cycle. The guy is 60 miles from my campus. One of the D2 teams has four openings and a C+ prestige. The recruit is 150 miles from this school. The other D2 school is a B- school who is also 150 miles from this recruit. He has 3 spots open and looks like he will be in a battle with another school for a guy 900 miles away. Do I have a chance to scoop this recruit from the D2 schools with my A+ prestige? What is the difference between C+ D2 and A+ D3?

Good question and I don't know the answer. I would bet that if they spend the same as you, they will win. You will probably always be a backup as long as he is being considered by DII schools.

With 5.5k, I'd say your chances are somewhere between slim and none.

Slim being the unlikely case both of the d2 schools decide they don't want him.

Well position does the guy play. Cause if he's in a position need you can try offering him a starting spot plus some home visits since he's only like 60 miles away it should be what about $310 a home visit.

Well, not saying you have a good chance, but those are probably some of your better weapons if you really can afford to give the guy the starts and minutes, just because they are so relatively cheap as long as you are planning on living up to them. . .

I can offer him 20 mins and a start and anywhere between 10 or 12 HV. Even if it doesn't work out, there's a chance the other coach will share his amount of effort so we could see how D3 stacks up with D2.

dont make the promises besides of he is on the d2 screen he wont accept them until you pull him down. I am sure you can find some one similar and save yourself the battle. 5500 is nothing in d2. YOu dont have a significant enough distance advanteage to even try.

You guys seem to be right. I put in 9 evals (1.5k) and a scholly and no consideration. Looks like I'm moving on.

If theres only 1 low prestige D2 team thats still a pretty bad chance to get him. If theres more than one you have a snowballs chance in hell of getting him. Same is true of D2-D1.
