OT - NCAA Tournament Topic

What a wonderful day, its the thursday after a fantastic St. Pattys day, Im at work on 2.5 hours sleep and the NCAA tournament is starting in less than two hours. Tell, me today shouldnt be a national holiday.

Anyhow, I know everyone is pumped about the tournament (probably because were all gambling on it in some form or another), I decided to start this thread so we can have a running discussion re: the games.

So here are my predictions for the early slate:

Going chalk with West Virginia and Xavier. Going with Cornell as the trendy upset pick. Although if I were betting on individual games I'd tease the line down and the over/under up and go Temple and the Under.

In the first 2:30 game I got Siena beating Purdue. I hope they pull it out as I actually have Siena in the Sweat 16!

Lets hear some others predictions.

In todays early games I'll take BYU over a Florida team that should have already played earlier this week in the NIT as well as 'Nova and Notre Dame.

In the second set I will take Murray State over Vandy, a trendy pick by many but I don't think Vandy is that good. Kansas State and Baylor are obvious picks and I'll take St. Mary's in the 7 / 10 upset over Richmond.

I love ODU over Notre Dame. They play great D, out rebound people, and they beat Georgetown earlier this year. Also, I'm looking for BYU in the Elite 8. They could even make the final four b/c the S16 and E8 games are in Salt Lake City.

I agree that Vandy will lose but they play Murray State, not Robert Morris. 37% of Vandy's scoring has come from the FT line. In the NT, refs tend to call fewer fouls.

There's a connection between Murray and Vandy, which are 91 miles apart. The mother of one of Murray's subs was a track athlete at Murray St. and worked at Vanderbilt Hospital. 12 hours after the pairings were announced, she was on her way to work. An empty can fell off the back of a truck. She slammed into it and was killed.

What does going chalk mean? I figured it was picking Kansas to win the tourney, but that doesn't seem to be the case

Seriously? Assuming youre being serious it means taking the higher seed. If youre posting to start a debate, please take it elsewhere.

No problem. Now who are your picks?

Vandy and ND are both going to lose? You two are crazy. ND is extremely hot right now and played in the best conference. They will roll.
