Low Durability Catchers Topic

If I go into the season with a Catching tandem with Durabilities of 51 and 40 (both terriffic 2-way Catchers), is that going to work? Or am I going to have to have a 3rd Catcher/DH who can catch a little with that combo?

You'll need one after roster call-ups, for sure.

In MLB, I had a 44/46 R/L platoon for a couple seasons and they both were 96-98% by the time "sept 1st" rolled around. It's worth noting that MLB has a high % of LH SP, which kept the games/PA's about even.

If your DH can C, especially if you're an AL team during interleague, it would be helpful.

I think you need two guys in the mid to upper 50s to play 100% for 162. I can't remember which team it was but I recall have trouble with a 55/45ish duo.

Followup: I had a feeling this was going to be the answer. My returning Catcher was the 51 Dur guy (Scott Coles). So I passed on the 40 Dur guy, and instead acquired a youngster with 52 Dur, Macbeth Morris (trade pending). Note that this will not be a traditional platoon. Both guys have everyday bats, and although there is some platoon advantage to playing Coles (R) vsL and Morris (S) primarily vsR, I intend to get both guys about 50% of the playing time.

I have heard that players will recover a greater amount of fatigue per day when rested on consecutive days than when rested for only one day. Is this true? If so, there might be a fatigue advantage to switching off 10-game runs in the lineup, with each going on rest when not in the lineup.

I've heard that also but ADMIN will say "100% is 100%". Nonetheless, I'll rest a guy the day before an off-day in hopes that the rumor is true.

I've not really seen anything that makes me believe it. Guys going into the A/S break fatigued don't seem to get some magical stamina after the break. Seems to me that they are guys coming off a three day break.

Yeah few days after the all star break they drop right back down...
