get a beast of a center and 2 sharp shooters. the other 2 positions get role players that do one thing very well- e.g. passing, rebounding, defense.

I hate the triangle.

The thought process has been a big time center and a perimeter guard and small forward, but I've had good success with scoring point guards. Just an idea...

To echo the same comments, a big, monster center is what is key to the Triangle, at least based on conventional wisdom.

That said, I probably just finished my strongest season ever in HD in which I had to start an average PF at the center spot since the only true C's I had were two green freshman. And the PF wasn't even that great as a true PF, let alone playing C in the Triangle. Which makes me think this entire game is a crap shoot sometimes.

i think its more of a forum fact than a truth that you need a great offensive big in the middle. i have had great bigs in the middle, top 1 in the country type guys on offense (d2), and ive had solid rebounders/defenders who aren't much of an offensive presence. honestly, the difference is pretty small. what you give up on offense is made up for the rebounding/defense.

Why does a 3 point loss to TCU and beating Louisville = you suck?

The team doesn't suck, but defense ratings are a bit low for DI, but not bad for a D+ prestige school.
