CF, Range, Glove, and You Topic

Whom would you rather have fielding in CF:

Lance: 79, 81, 84, 81
Brett: 85, 73, 61, 57

This is primarily a question about the relative importance of range versus glove in CF. What do you think?

I will take Lance. Brett will have a lot more errors with that 73 glove.Besides that Lance has a much better arm.

In a vacuum, I'd put Brett in CF (79 range in CF would be awful)... but any serious decision needs to know where the 2nd guy will go.

It's a toss-up to me as with just range and glove I would take Brett, but Lance should be good for a few extra assists with the arm.

If it was, "one of these guys in CF and one in 2B," then I think it's a no-brainer to put Brett in CF and Lance at 2B as the arm will help more there.

Lance could be a 2B or 3B

Thx for responses. So is glove or range more important in CF?

Lance is a full time hitter for me, so I would put Brett as 2B against righties and bench versus ies. Unless range is more important than better glove/arm/acc in CF. Do you disagree?

Lance

Brett

Lance is your 2B Brett is your CF. First of all Brett is LH so no 2B. Lance's fielding% in CF would be about .010 higher than Brett's but Brett will make up for it with 7 or 8 more + plays.

I'd rather have Brett in CF. He might make more errors, but he'll also catch a lot more balls.

For me, the question would be: "Is an extra +10 worth 5 errors?"

Duh! He will get to many more balls as well. Lance will not get the errors because those balls that Brett got to that lance couldn't are just "gap" hits.

I'd take Lance, Brett is pretty far from the def recs in glove...Lance isn't nearly as far from the def recs in range...

So this game pays attention to whether players are LH or RH? It's not just another cosmetic detail?

I won a WS with a LH 2B. 25 - plays, but his .440 OBP made up for that.
