Injuries: For or Against? Topic

With Seble making changes to the sim engine and other things this seems like the perfect time to bring back this argument. That and it was mentioned in another recent thread....

Simply state if you are for or against injuries.

My vote is against, I do not see how they enhance the HD experience in any way.

I am for injuries...or anything else that ads realism to the game.

For injuries. If you aren't for them, you are against realism!!

Injuries yes, especially for my opponents.

Seble is set on injuries being part of the game. He has spent (too much) time making durability count in them and there is no way (even if everyone said they didn't want them) that they will go away.

That said I am against anything that is out of the coaches control.

Do you consider this game a real life emulation of college basketball. Because if you do i think we are playing different games.

Exactly. Its hard enough to win a championship with out increasing the randomness of the game.

Exactly.

So recruit guys with higher durability.

How is this any different than any other aspect. You don't control whether your 99 per guy hits an open three, do you?

I'm not even saying I'm for it, just that that isn't a very good argument.

Well that is exactly what we are going to have to do. But, even if you recruit that star SG who also has a 90 DUR rating and he drops in the first round of the NT what then? It is just adding a little too much chaos to the game. Like playing roulette. It hurts those that have done their homework in the end.

That's fine, I suppose, but what happens when my 45 ath/85 speed/85 bh/85 pass PG gets owned by a 20/35/35/35 guy last year?

My point is that all we can do is put our best guys out there with the best gameplan we have, and even when we should win, we don't. The sim controls all gameplay, and sometimes the results don't align with the ratings. It's no different than any other rating.

I understand the feeling that it's not fair to have players get injured, and that's fine, but it's no less fair that my superior D3 player gets dominated by a crappy one, in my opinion.

Injuries have been (and still are) completely random and tied to nothing in game that a coach can control. And that is why they need to go.
