Pettitte in Progressives Topic

Does Pettitte always do bad in progressive leagues? I have him in the Kingdome now and he is currently 3-19 with a .307 OAV and a 5.98 ERA. The team isn't terrible at 63-68, but I was expecting Pettitte to be a good #2 starter this season and a great starter for the next few years. Should I be thinking about trading him or is this just a bad fluke season?

Do you have his PC set up right? Thats usually the reasons good pitchers suck.

The other thing is his hr/9+. You didn't mention the season but in a homer park you'll want this to be over 100 (or 150 ideally).

Sorry its '96 Petttitte. TPC is 110 and MPC is 120.

He had 6.31 IP/G that season. I'd multiply that by 15 to get a MPC of 95.

Just out of curiosity, has he been giving up many runs in the final inning of his starts?

I use 16.5....it seems like most people use 15 though. Either way, I wouldn't set his max PC over 105.

I just checked Pettite out, 1996 is a pretty solid season.

If he sucks it's probably:

1. The Park (check his home and away)
2. Your Defense
3. In game fatigue

if you don't play live you don't know when guys get tired

i have never played live

if you are keeping your guys out there past when they get tired how will you ever know?

so err on the side of short

if a guy pitched 7 innings in real life, pitch him 6
if a guy pitched 16 per inning in real life, pitch him 15

never tire
