Obviously, he still has a couple games to go, and some brutal competition ahead, but c'mon...that has to be the best regular season anyone's ever had at the DI level.

sorry, but not even close. not even the best season ever in knight. last year's UNC squad was much more dominant

ASU's schedule is pretty weak. I think Duke's 28-4 season this season in knight is more impressive as well.

I'll hand you UNC's record last season...I should've done some more research.

No way on Duke, though. Sure, that's a crazy schedule, but 4 losses is four losses. Of course, maybe they'll meet up in the finals and we'll know for sure.

i think the regular season is fairly insignificant for the truly great teams. that said, that is a really talented team, playing the #35 sos (although his true difficulty of schedule is obviously much higher, with so many road games). i would be more impressed by a performance by a less talented team, or against a harder schedule, even if there was a loss in there somewhere. not denying that team is having a really great season, they are.

There have been plenty of teams in the past that went undefeated and had #1 RPI and SOS...

Just in Tark alone:

Season 15, acn24 went 35-0 at Manhattan with the #1 RPI

Season 19, opshutdown34 went 35-0 at Florida A&M!! with the #1 RPI

It's not common for a D1 team to run the table, but it's far from rare......

Phelan, Season 8, lostmyth2 went 35-0 with Coastal Carolina wih the #1 RPI

Naismith, Season 27, oldresorter went 35-0 with S. Mississippi with the #1 RPI

And here's the really WEIRD one:

In Season 1 of Naismith (obviously all D1 teams were still Sim coached), Utah went 35-0 with a Sim coach with the #1 RPI........

I don't have access to Smith or Iba, if someone wants to check those worlds.

There might be better seasons, but I can't think of any better name than jerkstore.

I'd like to point out that, with the exception of oldresorter's S. Mississippi team, all those seasons happened early on in their prospective worlds, when DI wasn't full of human coaches yet.

LM's UNC team in Knight was ridiculously talented and as close to unbeatable as I've seen in HD. What's different about Jerkstore's ASU squad is they seem vincible yet they're still undefeated, which makes his year VERY impressive but not the best ever.
