Does the sim actually use real-life stats for grounding into double plays? And, if so, can anyone explain how?

The old-timers did not keep track of GIDP so they're all listed as 0 in their stats profiles.

So, would Honus Wagner or Buck Ewing, being fast and having 0 GIDP rarely hit into a DP in the sim?

What about a modern player, such as '97 Biggio, who actually never hit into a DP? On the other end, what about Ernie Lombardi?

i don't believe RL GIDP stats are used in the sim.

If true, is speed rating then the only batter factor used?

presumably whether they are LH or RH batters... and also, remember that groundball/flyball is determined by the hitter.

RL GIDP is used (among other things) to determine speed rating. Speed rating, independant of anything RL, is then used to determine the likelihood of G'ingIDP.

That makes sense -- somehow. Thanks for the replies.
