Compensation question Topic

I had 3 1st round picks in our recent draft. The 3rd of my 1st round picks decided to return to school. I had offered him his full demand. Am I eligible for a D comp pick next season? Or is D comp only given for your 1st overall pick?

Yes you should get your comp, as long as it's not a supplemental pick

I have a thread open on this issue too. I am not 100% sure but I think you might only get compensation if the pick was initially yours.

Correct, it had to be your true first round pick to get compensation. If it was a first round pick that you got as a result of a type A free agent of yours being signed, you won't get a D comp pick next season.

This is an incorrect statement. I have personally experienced this situation. Any first round pick (1-32), regardless of how it was received, can earn you a Type D pick the following season.

Just to be perfectly clear, it's not the 1-32 that matters. If for example, your lone first round pick is the 34th pick overall because Team A and Team B both have Type D picks prior to your first pick, you can still get a Type D the next season if you meet the pick's demands and are rejected.

My example of this occurring is that in Season 8 of Kinsella, I received Pick #27 as Type A compensation. My #27 draft pick that season refused to sign. The following season, I had my normal pick and pick #28 as a Type D.

Due to my receiveing multiple 1st round picks due to losing a Type A FA, this pick was #41 andit was still the 1st round, but it was a supplemental pick(1*).

1* is not first round. It is the supplemental round.

Always have the supplemental round set as "very conservative". Or don't, if you are in a world with me.
