Type A draft pick question Topic

I searched but couldn't find the answer to this.. though it's probably been answered before.

My current pick is in the top half of the 1st round. If I sign a Type A, I would normally give up my 2nd round pick. But what if someone else signs MY type A? Would I have to give up that 1st round pick (if I got one) ? Would it depend on whether I acquired that 1st rounder before signing another Type A?

Or if it wasn't a 1st round pick, would I have to give up my supplemental? (I'm thinking the answer here is no...I'm more worried about losing my potential 1st rounder)

You only give up your true pick if you sign a Type A.
