Anyone ever get a D-I job when they were listed as a longshot? I'm not actually looking right now, but am a bit intrigued by a power conference job that's open in Crum.

I applied for one once in another world, but someone with a better resume got the job. I was just wondering if no one else applied, would a longshot candidate get it, or would it stay sim?

I've never gotten one despite dozens of attempts.

I'm probably around 0-for-20 on longshot attempts.

axeme, my guess is if no one else applied you'd probably get it, but that just doesn't happen. I've never seen it happen that it stayed SIM, but I haven't been here that long so I can't say that with 100% certainty.

I had a related question: If you apply for a longshot and you don't get it, does it hurt your loyalty grade?

I had a long shot before applying to my other D1 school that I am at. It is still a sim school by the way. They said that they wanted to go in another direction. Kinda weird that I was a long shot and no one applied and I still got rejected.

Doubtful. I've applied for D+ D1 gigs from D2 before where I was listed as a longshot; I was rejected, and the job stayed Simmy.

I got the Rutgers job in Tark when listed as a longshot.

They were a C- prestige coming off of a 2-25 year. I guess no one else applied.
