It appears a noteable number of first year coaches in DIII have done no recruiting at all. I suspect they chose not to participate. What happens to a team with a human coach that abandons the team completely before even recruiting? Does the computer sign recruits for the team? What happens to game planning? Does the sim program take over?

Our conference has 2 teams that appear unmanaged, 1 of which needed 9 recruits. Are we going to have a team with 9 walk ons in our conference?

I'd rather have sim teams. These 2 teams will take years to rebuild

Its called freehd. It happened before, but they brought it back. They pick up these free teams to do some scouting for there real teams. Some may actually sign a couple players, but most don't.

You dont get FSS with FreeHD unless you buy another season.

I believe this correct, and for very good reason.

I'm not talking about them using fss. Pick up 2-3 teams around your main school (within 500 miles of each direction) with 3-5 open ships and you can scout just about anyone with evals being under 200 a pop.

Leave it to Furry to find a loophole, ha ha! But it's a very easily exploited loophole that he's mentioned (unfortunately).

I'm sorry...but any owner that would do that is pathetic.

Sully, that sad part is, I'm sure there are more coaches that do this than we would care to know. And, yes, it is pathetic.

What happens with these teams? How do you play aginst them?

And what in the world makes anyone cheat like that? It's a game for God's sake!

dear lord that is hilarious. What a waste of time and energy to get a very very minimal gain to avoid a tiny bit of FSS $$.

I would much rather see a 5-pack for $20 or something really cheap that would not be as exploitable than Freehd.

Its common sense? I'm sure I'm not the one who 'found' this as everyone knows (or should know?) you gain info off scouting evals. Everyone knows (or should know?) you can use scouting evals still. Common sense says people were still cheating when FSS was closed and the same amount or more 'free' teams were still signing up and not recruiting.

Prior to potential and being able to take advantage of evaluations with a freehd team, there were several in our D3 conference that felt that somebody was "sabotaging" our conference by filling the rosters with walkons.

Don't know if there was anything to it but it happened (I think) three seasons in a row and since there wasn't any recruiting benefit to it, it really raised a few eyebrows among the non-dead human coaches in the conference.

Ain't freehd grand?

Solution? Move up to D-II.

Let customer service know if the team isnt recruiting players. They will make the school unemployed. We had a situation with ECSU in little east in wooden. Dude hasnt recruited in like 4 seasons and customer service said they wouldnt take care of the team making them unemployed so ecsu can at least some simai recruits after this season.

When someone has to cheat to gain an advantage in a simulated game what does that say about that person? Pathetic, I guess, but that doesn't seem low enough. There has to be a better description. How about "lower than a worms belly"...any other "words of encouragement" for these fine gentlemen?
