I have a junior PF that is averaging about 11.5 minutes per game. I've got two emails over the course of the season saying he wants 1 to 2 more minutes per game, or else he might transfer. I would like to give him the extra minutes, but I'm in a tight race for the regular season conference championship and can't cut any corners. If I can't find the extra minute for him then what is the likelihood he will transfer? Thanks.

I've been in your shoes several times. I haven't had them actually transfer, but I don't know if that's true across the board.

Yeah, I've never had a player transfer due to a difference of a couple minutes. Your team isnt great so if your too worried that he will transfer, just find a way to bump up his minutes. You should maybe start him versus the terrible teams that you'll play(Polytechnic).

The only occasion I've had one transfer without breaking a recruiting promise is in D1. If you recruit a jr juco player and don't play them immediately, they may jet on you. With your teams I wouldn't worry. If you are nervous about it, bump his substitution level up from "fairly fresh" to "getting tired".

I already have him set at "getting tired" and also have him as the scrub player for SF. I'm thinking about just starting him a time or two against really weak teams. Thanks.

I think if you start him at PF and leave him as the scrub for SF, you'll get a good amount of minutes against those weak teams.

He isn't juco, so there is no risk of him transferring. I inherited a team and didn't play a Junior at all, hoping he would transfer. Even with all the nasty letters, he stayed.
