I know it happens , but I am still ******! After beating them by 40, we lose the next game.... Same gameplan. We were CLEARLY the dominate favorite as well.... As far as I can tell, the future of HD doesn't look bright either, so I may not be staying in HD much longer... This one game is enough to push me over the edge. If this had been a weak human team that ran slowdown -5 and beat me, though frustrating, I would've accepted it, but this is absurd...

Don't take single games so hard. Some vets here don't even read the PbP.

Second, the winning by 40 looks to be the odd game, not this one.

You say that you were CLEARLY the dominant favorite, you were favored by 2 POINTS. The first game, it was even.

You are starting a FR and a SO in your backcourt. He has 4 SR and a JR starting. Looking at the matchups, you may be slightly better, but not as much as you think.

weird losses are EXTREMELY hard to take if

1. you care
2. you have only one team

me, i'm adding a 2nd team in a month or so at least to distract myself from my 1st team lol

every now and again I see a result that makes me want to rant and occasionally I do if for no other reason than to just get it of my chest.

I hate when people try to justify these instances/anomalies....just admit that stuff like this isn't supposed to happen.

The point spread is heavily skewed for starters. Secondly, the sim is a press team. Both of my point guards are faster. Furthermore, the sim school has exactly 1 player faster than mine by a whopping 4 points. I haven't lost to a sim in my 12 seasons here at Lane. If you can't look at this team and my own, and see how clear my advantage was, then it is only because it didn't happen to you. I bet you would be awfully upset if that NC State team of yours lost to a sim press team that was worse in every single category that matters across the board. Like I said before, I was venting. The point spread comment is ridiculous. The 4 SR/ 1JR means his IQ's were indeed better, but the talent, come on. His offensive ratings are too low to compare. PER ratings of 53, 47, and 36 for the starting top 3 and LP ratings of 56, 60, and 39. My Per ratings were 25(PG with 0 distro), 76, and 64, with LP ratings of 61, 87, and 57 respectively. Also, speed advantage at PG, Backup PG, Backup SG (By a mile), SF, backup SF (By 2 miles), PF, Backup PF, C, Backup C. Athleticism tie with PF, advantage at Backup PF (By a mile), C (Though very small), Backup C (By a mile). I could keep going on but it's not worth it. It won't help me replay the game and win... But to say that I wasn't the clear favorite, I'm sorry, not buying it.

I guess this would be the best Sim I've played in a while, and though we probably shouldn't have beat them by 39 the first time, we should've beaten them by 15-20 BOTH times.

After this last NCAA tournament all "anomalies" in HD are "justified."

pitino, you are the more talented team but you are very young. look at UNC this year. all the talent in the world but the TEAM sucked in real life. luckily, your squad is playing better than the real UNC team this year. Things like this happen all the time in HD ESPECIALLY with young teams. You have a proven track record and I'm sure this isn't the first or last it will happen to you.

I remember a game one of my teams played where we got destroyed from 3 pt range even though the other team's highest perimeter rating was 35. I was pretty miffed at that but decided to chalk it up as the other team was just 'feeling it'. Yeah quirky games do happen in this sim from time to time, I've learned to just roll with it. Not saying it doesn't still tick me off though. LOL!

I try to look at it this way. There have been games that I have won and I shouldn't have and there have been games that I lost and shouldn't have. It is the breaks of the game! We just remember the losses and chalk the wins up to OUR great coaching.

id say that game is more like butler beating michigan state, not the biggest upset ever , ratings are only part of the equation, sometimes matchups, your team didnt play as well as they did the last time you played that team, and you were on the road this time too. id chalk it up to away game, your team didnt play well there team did.
