Player name change to avoid confusion Topic

At Rice in DI Crum I just signed a player with the identical name of another player on the roster. I thought I read here a long time ago that CS would change the name of the incoming player in these situations. Has anyone been able to pick the new name however? I had a little fun writing the ticket below to CS and am hoping for a positive response:

"On my final home visit to my prize freshman recruit Richard Lay (who will likely start every game for 4 years), I explained to him and his family that we were thrilled by his impending signing, but unfortunately our Sophomore Center's name is also Richard Lay, so there is likely to be a lot of confusion in boxscores and telecasts. It turns out that the new Richard's maternal grandmother was the recently deceased famous Cherokee Indian chief Wilma Mankiller, and Richard's mom suggested that he change his last name to Mankiller in honor of his grandma, at least for the duration of his Rice career. Richard loved the idea and got back from the courthouse with his new last name today. So, please change the name of incoming freshman PG Richard Lay to Richard Mankiller. Many thanks!"

I don't know about picking a new name, but I do know that Rob Tracy had CS add a sweet mustache to former St. Joe's star Fredrick Mercurio, aka Freddy Mercury.

One of the coaches in my conference just signed Peter Pan.

He'll be a hit in the locker room..."I believe in fairies. I DO! I DO!"

I had 3 Smiths so I was allowed to change 2 of them to Captains Zissou and Hennessey.

I think the fact that WSU plays with their Man Wang out on the court for 13m a game is down right revolting.

the fact that he only lasts for 13 minutes does nothing for asian stereotypes.

Sounds like something a guy who wishes he could last 13 minutes would say...

Recruiting the same name is weird, but have you guys ever had to identical looking players? I just realized over the off-season in Phelan that I have two guys with the same picture. Its my Staten Island team: Forrest Meece and Denver Lindquist. I might want to get one of them a nice mustache like Fredrick Mercurio :)

The fact that he's 6'10" might though.

I know in GD if you have 2 players at the same position with the same name they will let you change one. I've seen Vanilla Ice, Kelly Kapowski and Chicken McNugget.
