Colgate, led by coach bdixon, had their best season in 14 years, going 16-11 and winning the reg. season conf. championship with a conference best record of 13-3.
UMBC won their 4th straight reg. season conf. title, losing back to back non-con heartbreakers that could have gone either way to post season teams Dayton (by 4) and Rice (60-68 at Rice) before finishing the season with a 16-11 winning record.
Lehigh and coach mberube finished the reg. season tied with UMBC for the conf. title while having their first winning season in 6 years. Big wins included a 2 game sweep of UMBC and upsets over conf. champ Colegate and non-con foe Boise St., both on the road.
Lafayette, led by COY muskies85, won 20 games for the first time in 26 seasons before finishing 3rd in their division behind co-champions Lehigh & UMBC. Their 7-3 non-con schedule included 17 point blowout wins over Ak. Pine Bluff (15-12) and S. Alabama (15-13) as well as a hard fought, 55-50 loss to Kent St., currently 22-8 and in the 2nd rd. of the NT.
Maine, led by the infamous "HungryAl", had their best season (16-13) in 8 years before finishing 3rd in their division (10-6). Their non-con schedule included a tough 3 straight games that began with a road victory over #8 Sacramento St. (25-4), followed by a 24 point blowout over Long Island and ending with a hard fought road loss to #14 Mississippi St. (23-7) that saw them enter the final 7 minutes of the game with a 2 pt. lead, proving the Patriot League can play with the best teams in the country!
