Ive got a player who is Arb eligible at the start of next season. I dont want him.. His attributes are very good except for VsR and Batting eye... which make him worthless.

If I release or wave him during arb period... will I still get a type a/b pick for him? Getting the compensation draft pick is my main goal... what should I do?

If he's arb-eligible, you can't get a comp pick for him.

Unfortunately, you don't get jack unless he is becoming a BL free agent, in which case he wouldn't be in arb.

And one piece of advice - if it is close to the arb period, release, don't waive, because you'll get stuck with him when arb takes place before the waiver period is over.

If his vsr and batting eye aren't very good, chances are he's not a very good player. I would release him.
