How do you limit these types of turnovers?
Player x double dribbles
Player x loses the ball out of bounds on the way to the basket
Player x throws the ball away
Player x is called for an illegal screen

Are these turnovers the result of playing against a good defense? Or are these type of turnovers the result of having poor passers or dribbling skills. I would think a good defense would cause players to adjust there shot or straight up miss but i cant seem to figure out how my team averages something like 18 turnovers a game and most of them seem to be these petty double dribble, passing out of bounds type of turnovers. Thoughts?

Well according the pundits an average team will turn the ball over 22% of the time in real world college basketball. A good or better than average team only 18% of the time.

So you can take your possessions and get the % for your turnovers and go that route to see if it is average or not. As there are variables at work here it may not be entirely accurate but odds are it'll be closer to the truth other than doing some heavy math and/or guess work.

You can go to the above link and see some hard numbers for real college teams or go to

and see %.

As this is a sim of the real world you would think that it would suit a little bit in things like this. As far as I can tell it follows as about as close as possible with the factors involved here.
