How important is conditioning? Topic

I usually practice my players at 20 conditioning. Is this too much? Am I losing crucial practice time in other core areas by only practicing at a level of 10-12?

That's what I shoot for, esp. if they have multiple HP in ATH/SP/ST areas. If they're LP in a couple of these, I'll back off to ~12 and work on something else.

And if you press or run FB, you definitely want to shade towards 20...as you'd definitely want to prioritize these areas during recruiting.

I'm a strong believer in conditioning - you'll be fine practicing at 20 (and hell, I go more, often) but you could drop it down to 17-18 if you'd rather get the gains elsewhere first.

Yah stamina is always a plus to have. You don't wanna be fast and have no stamina.

20 is a lot, depends on your potentials. I usually don't hit 20, but I do 50-60 min of offense/defense practice.

I also never run straight press.

8 answers and all agree conditioning is a good thing. Plus, it makes hair fuller.

I used to always go 20 minutes with conditioning, but then I started putting more minutes into my O/D and now it's virtually impossible to put 20 minutes into conditioning unless it's an uperclassmen who has maxed out in everything including ath/sp/sta. In all honesty you don't really need more than 15.

20 is more like the bare minimum IMO. many of my bigs will have 26-28 minutes, with 50 minutes of team practice usually.

how can you have 20 in conditioning on frosh, and also have 50 on team O/D? in particular, SFs or whoever is going to play SF?
