Glove (Terrence Stern) or bat (Joe Worrell)?

Worrell is at the very bottom of what I'd even consider playing at SS, and Stern has a career OPS of just a touch over .600. I play in Hartford, for what that's worth.

Thoughts?

Stern at SS, Worrell either at 3B or RF

Keep the better fielder at SS. Worrell is decent at 3B and would be an above average RF.

3B: Alex Solano
RF: Bill Andrews

I feel okay about leaving Worrell in AAA until next year when Solano walks, though.

Worrell's bat is NOT enough of an upgrade over Stern's to even consider him at SS.... however, with that gun on him, he could be a really great defensive 3B.

That said, replacing Solano with Worrell will leave a HUGE hole in your lineup.

Yeah, but that's a problem I'm going to have to deal with either way.

Worrell's bat is not that great. At least Stern gives you Stellar defense. Worrell would be a waste at 3B though, he should probably be playing 2B.

No way I would ever play Worrell at SS over Stern. SS is the one position in HBD where a guy could practically have 0's across the board offensively and you'd still be well-advised to put him at SS if he can be a Gold Glover. Worrell isn't nearly good enough offensively to consider making this switch.

With a career ML OPS of .606, even though Stern isn't quite everything I'd look for in a defensive SS, he is definitely your man.

I'd go with the glove.

Worrell looks like an OK bat at best, and not worth the runs you'd give up.
