When I first started browsing whatifsports, i was disappointed to see a lack of pro basketball/football dynasty games. like many people i'm sure, i thought "well, that would be cool if you drafted players straight from the college sim leagues".
will this ever happen?
the pro leagues would obviously be matched up with individual college worlds, probably with international or feeder leagues to fill up the extra coaching slots.
the early entry problem could potentially be fixed. say when early entries declare for the draft, they can also choose to sign with an agent. lower quality players are less likely to sign with an agent, as are more intelligent players (high school IQ/personality test would show this inclination). if a player doesnt sign with an agent, and doesnt get drafted, he can return to school (assuming some coach in the italian league doesn't offer him a lucrative deal).
obviously you'd want certain players to have higher potentials than they do now...in the pros, i'd say players peak athletically at 26-28 and mentally around 30...so the recruit generation may have to be adjusted accordingly. for example, when brandon roy was drafted he was probably at 80% of his potential (and he was considered a pretty polished product, at least physically) while rudy gay may have been at 50% of his potential.
i think the potential for awesomeness would make this a worthy investment down the road.
