Good idea to add new worlds? Topic

Its been a long time since it was easy to recruit owners to fill openings in established private worlds. Adding 2 or 3 new worlds certainly didn't help.

No, it's not. Mostly because they opened two new ones within 15 days of one another. WifS has proven that they never learn.

Worlds fill. So it takes 4 days instead of 2. And I doubt you had to wait more than 18 seconds to fill your worlds Mike?

Worlds are taking forever to fill right now.

Two new worlds, with another one trying to fill right now are killing any and all recruiting.

The new worlds have 8 new owners in each, I doubt your clamoring for them. And as far as the vets, and I can only speak for myself, it's either my money goes to a new world, in which it has or no world. I'm sure many feel the same way. I certainly understand your point but I doubt it effects worlds filling up any more quicker. Not much anyway.

I can see your point, but I sincerely doubt that all vets playing in new worlds are in the same boat as you.

Maybe it's my imagination, but I think having the door opened for new worlds is making existing worlds seem less attractive.

Maybe. But there are vets who have been around for awhile that never experienced a new world. Or at least in a long time it's appealing. And as far as WIS will never learn, it's all about money. 32 new owners in a day or 5 in 2? Right or wrong.

Well, since it's already been addressed, it's not about me. The problem with adding new worlds is two-fold: 1. No matter what WifS demands, owners drop existing worlds to join new ones. They just do. 2. With new worlds being created, the uninformed believe they should wait to add another world so they can get in the brand new shiny world where the roads are paved with gold and the parking meters are made of edible chocolate. So, rather than join a good world today, they wait in hopes of entering World Shangri-la.

So, yeah, it slows down rollovers. And, as you know, maybe 1-2 of those new owners will be back. And they might just be an alias.

I agree with that. But for WIS, they don't lose owners, it just moves around a little bit. I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to make more money. Sucks for us, but it doesn't suck for them ;). At least not yet.

It becomes a balancing act. I'm sure you recall the days of free teams and constant ******** about "What is WifS gonna do to fill these worlds?" 8 new owners = $120. Is it worth ******* off dozens, if not hundreds, of current paying customers because they can't play?

If WifS would think it out, they recognize that they should open a world every three months or so. Then it's an "event" and it's not overwhelming. By opening two worlds 15 days apart, even "I want to join a new world" clown thinks they will open a new one on 6/1. And they might be right.

One new world every 3-4 months seems good to me.

one of the new worlds forming that isnt going to be created til mid june is for alot of us simleague baseball live players..we just would like a world with people we have established report with and be able to experience hbd. a lot of us have not played before but some have like kneeneighbor and habsfan1.

I feel like if they are going to be adding worlds, they should be closing defunct public ones. I understand the wanting a random, fresh team, but they should not be adding worlds without removing others. we will have the same problems as we did a few months back.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating for the deletion of worlds, merely the resistance of adding worlds.

Every time I see a world move to public(open) they fill up very quickly. I have no problem recruiting the needed owners for my world and have the world filled the first day its available. I wonder if worlds do not fill because the effort given by many commish does not go beyond putting a ad in the forums.

That's where it lies. There are private worlds that fill quickly, always have. New worlds won't effect them. It won't effect the public worlds either, they fill quickly.

It's those private, I need 8-12 owners each rollover, worlds that might suffer. But still not much IMO. But there are two things that can happen with these worlds, 1.) they let just about anyone in to fill quickly, which is probably why they need 8-12 new owners each season and 2.) they decide to be more picky and after a couple seasons, won't have any more high rollover.

In both instances, new worlds will not effect them. But two worlds in 15 days is not over-doing it.
