Progressive Franchise Twist

'88-'89/'89-'90/'90-'91

#34246

Gentlemen, the Progressive Franchise Twist league is a league where you select any franchise any "twist" any of the players to any season of their career (regardless of the team they played for) that appeared on your chosen franchises roster for the timeframe we are playing. I chose to start this league off with the season of '88-89 (+ '89-'90, '90-'91) as it was the first season of at least 24 teams. Next season will be '91-'92, '92-'93, '93-'94, and so on. Useless and rankled wash-out Ralph Sampson of the Warriors becomes the dynamic praying mantis of his Rockets days. You get the picture.

Rules:

*37 million dollar salary cap. Makes all franchises viable, plus-wise if you want to splurge on a huge Jordan year, good luck with the rest of your roster. Gotta draft a balanced roster in essence.

*Waiver wire is in use.Could be handy if at some point you realize you made a gaffe during the season during drafting. Only players applicable via drafting for your team available to you.

*No rookies, or clones.Draft a bench gentlemen.

*Here is the essential tool you will need:http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/

*Please keep team name accurate. Also please use the arena your franchise CURRENTLY uses. EX:Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, etc. Also name your team the team name of THE CURRENT franchise. EX:Oklahoma City Thunder, Washington Wizards. Sorry to be a stickler, this was just part of my vision for this league.

I am going to ticket admin to see if we can have some sort of GC awarded to the returning(every new owner is automatically eligible and everyone is eligible in the 1st season) owner with the same franchise with the best win-% improvement by their team over each 3 season stretch we play. Gives owners of teams without big name stars another reason to try out a franchise and/or stick with their franchise each season given the peaks and valleys of every franchise (I created this same theme for baseball and admin did indeed agree to award a $10 GC each season, so I think they'll play ball).

Given the $37 million cap, the twist factor and the 3-year window for each SIM season, I honestly believe every single team could be a contender every single season of this. Come on people, grab your favorite team and enjoy rooting for all your favorite players, as they compete for Championships.

That said, you all know I'm in any League when I can get the Lakers.
(Even if I do still hate the freakin' SIM as it currently is.)

You got 'em sweg, Thanks for joining and good luck.

I was actually staring at Bostno as I am a Celtics fan..they are fantastic the next few seasons then, they have a season led by Dominique and Xavier McDaniel that you should enjoy should this league exist that long ;-)

Okay, I hopped in with Denver. If anybody wants Denver I will happily switch. I will take any team in this format (and hopefully with a GC reward in play).
