Has anyone used a DH lately at 1B? I'm going to have to use one in a prog soon, and was wondering what to expect in the way of errors...

I don't know if this will be helpful. I've used a guy who's primary position is DH, although he has D/D- ratings for firstbase.

He's handled 58 chances without an error, and has zero "-" plays.

I often use players out of position at 1B without much trouble, including DHs...I keep a cheap, good fielding guy around as a defensive replacement.

Thanks for the response. I imagine the pure DHs (with no ratings anywhere) are worse than a DH with a D/D- rating at 1B. If it's something like an error a game for those guys, then I might have to scrap my plan.

I used Paul Molitor 95 about 8 months ago ... he's not rated anywhere. He had 21 errors and 13 minus plays. I was pretty happy with that performance.

Thanks, jfranco77. And that doesn't sound bad at all.

21 errors at 1st base sounds like an awful lot to me. That is 21 more outs your team has to get.

I have been using a 1st base-by-committee. Of course I have never made the playoffs, so take that for what it is worth.

In the current season of this prog (1989) Will Clark made 19 errors at 1B, and he's got a B/A+ rating. Wally Joyner (A/A-) made 11 errors. So 21 errors from a DH sounds pretty good to me.
