I asked for a live chat interface. I think that it would really help in trade negotiations. what do you guys think?

seems like it wouldn't be too hard to add but I don't really know much about that stuff so I could be completely wrong.

Some worlds including one that I am currently in have implemented a live chat feature that can be accessed through the blog. I think our commish pays a small fee for the capability. It does indeed speed up trade talks, especially around the deadline.

it sounds like a big project for something that's not too helpful. there are a lot of IM programs available... i've used yahoo (which i don't use for anything else) and others.

Why do you really even need a live chat? Just trade chat each other. If it takes 100 messages, who cares? You both sit there and refresh the page every minute or so and you're essentially talking live. I agree it's not exactly the same as talking on an IM program but it's close enough to not require WiS to code an entirely new chat interface.

It would be good so you wouldn't have to give your personal IM info to some guy you've never met. Not to mention having another window to open, log in to, etc.. It would definitely be nice if you could live trade chat right within WIS>

Why would I want to establish a separate yahoo or any other IM ID just for HBD? So now I have to log into two different accounts, one for HBD and one for 'real life'?

Would be much nicer/easier to just have it in the game. If Facebook can do it, so can HBD :-)

we have one in our blog, but it is rarely used. if i really needed a trade done fast i could always give out a gmail account and do a chat there...

Definitely not a bad idea. May not be the most useful add ever, but every other program nowadays has a live chat so why not here for trades as well. Its not like you have to use it...

Definitely not a good idea either. I cant see the point. TC woks fine. Plus If I was IM, btw I don't use instant messenging but if I did and some IM while I was doing something else, id just escape out of it.

And you'll probably get that annoying person who IM you all fk'ng day.

I think it's assumed that any IM option would give you the ability to show yourself as away or even better, away to specific users.
