I just took over at W. New Mexico in DII Great NW in Phelan and I've got 7 open spots and I goofed and offered out 8 scholarships, 7 of which are considering only me.

The other is to a PG that I've been fighting off a lower prestige school that is a lot closer to him and I'm fairly certain has guaranteed him a starting spot based on what his roster looks like. And yet he's been consistently feeding me "you're my top choice" messages the whole time. But, he's still considering us both, despite that and the amount of money i've pumped into him.

So am I correct in assuming that even if I spend the rest of my money on the PG and hope he signs rather than one of the other 7 (highest rated guy i'm after), that the most likely scenario is that the 7 considering just me will be the 7 that sign immediately when they can?

yes.

guess it's time to rescind one of the 7 offers then

or unless the others are all freshman - they only allow 6 players in any class.

If you have redshirted a freshman that counts as a freshman this year.

3 were sophmores...it worked out because someone came from out of nowhere and took one of the two i didn't mind losing

ANOTHER QUESTION -

I had to sign 11 recruits , but could only sign 6 freshmen . I looked at transfers and Jucos (slim pickings). The thing is I signed 9 recruits and 4 PGs - more than I needed- I had a PF freshman that the game would not let sign as I already had 6 freshman signed -- CAN I CUT a freshman recruit and sign the other player ? It appears that I will have one walk-on for sure and maybe 2 .

no - have to cut before signings start
