Sure. But what are the "right" players? I'd say you need to have very high stamina, run 10-12 deep in the rotation, be faster and more athletic than your opponent, and really understand trapping/pressing concepts in real life to be effective at a "fullcourt press". As assembling a team in real life that meets these requirements is pretty difficult, you don't see many (any?) coaches doing it.
If someone in HD can assemble that team, it should be effective. If it's not in that situation, then WIS should fix it. But if the new engine does not allow a team without clear speed/athleticism advantages, a deep rotation, and good IQs to be successful at all running FCP, that sounds about right to me. A team like that would foul a lot and/or give up a lot of layups in real life too. They'd keep doing it until the coach switched to a more logical defense.
I'd be fine if they killed it altogether. I'd be just as fine if they made it so difficult to work (just like it is in real life) that it dies a natural death.
