He doesn't have great numbers...at age 23 he's maxed at contact power vR and eye...and has only 4 more pts to gain in vL. Average will be about 58, or so.

Yet he seems to be a better hitter than the numbers should account for (MILB...I know it may mean nothing..and I'm trying to account for that). Good speed and fair makeup.

But he just seems to be better than he should be.

I'm sure you have had that happen to one of your guys. Any reason why?

If his range improved a little and you could safely play him at 2B, he could be a useful major-leaguer. Doubt he'll ever hit enough to be a regular, but maybe a good fit as a UT and platoon guy vs. ies.

I'd play him everyday at 2B at AAA and hope his range gets to 81 or 82, and the glove to 73 or 74, and then consider him for S17.

Safely play him at 2B? He's 79/72. Granted he'll be below-average, but he won't kill you.

Now granted, ~.700 OPS with below-average defense at 2B is not a very valuable player, but he could be an ML player as a bench guy.

He reminds me of a 2B version of Alex Flores. Sufficient defense, amazing MiL stats despite middling hitting ratings, a little bit of speed; more of a y-platoon split. Flores was a starter for me on my No Quitters team because I needed a cheap plug-in there so I could spend money elsewhere.

Those guys are good to have lurking in AAA because they can give you salary-cap flexibility, but they're not the type that you ever plan to have starting long-term.
