Traded on waivers? Topic

Is this possible? We had a player on waivers, I made a claim, then wondered what happened to the claim and he'd been traded while on waivers. How is that possible?

A player on waivers can be traded.

Whichever gets processed first (the trade or the waiver) decides the player's fate. If the waiver period ends before the trade is completed and the player was claimed, then the trade gets nullified. If the trade completes first, then the waiver claims are nullified.

That isn't how it should work though, right? In RL, I mean. That is the whole point of waivers. If someone puts a claim on someone, they technically have the same rights as the waiving team during that period.
