We've got a 1/2 court press/man doubling in the frontcourt.
I agree with the true definition of what a FCP is and what a half-court TRAP is. There is no half court press per se. It's a zone trap. A zone with double teams if you will
This then leads to the question of how does HD play a triangle and 2 and box and 1. Read the Hoops 101.
The way that I'd envision allowing traps to happen in the HD front court would be via manual double teams.
But I'm afraid we are allowing teams to gain the benefit of a FCP while running 1/2 court press (which, the way it's written, is really a trap in the front cout.) They are doubling automatically. There is not the fatigue associated with the FCP.
Also,
is an open shot like a FT where there is no defensive influence? A wide open shot would be the same against the Bulls as it would be against the Weak Sisters right?
What set of IQs are you using?
Are there increased fouls in the 1/2 court press?
What about fatigue?
What are the other disadvantages of using the FCP or 1/2 court trap, which is now what HD refers to as a 1/2 court press (ie increased chance of giving up an offensive board).
