Minimum Makeup/Health Topic

Do you have a minimum makeup and/or health requirement when drafting? If so, what is it?

Depends on the player I guess. I like to see a makeup of at least 70, especially if he's got a lot of developing to do. As for health, I also like to look at 70+, but very high health/durability can be a real plus as well (nothing like a guy who can comfortably play all 162 games without injury) so there are increasing returns as that number goes up.

It's all risk/reward with the "yellow" ratings, other than speed.

Personally, I don't even look at makeup or patience or any of that.

Low health will give me hesitation for drafting, as constant injuries will impede development, but often I'll just bump them down a few spots until I'm comfortable with risk/reward.

Due to bad experiences, I avoid 30 or less health. I had a guy who lived on the DL and, because of that, his ratings were always taking a hit. So, when he did play, he wasn't the guy I signed.

I pay attention to make-up in the first two rounds. Looking for a current of 65+.

+2. I would also add that I downgrade pitchers much more than hitters for similar health ratings, since if you suffer an injury it is more likely to be devastating.
