full court press effective Topic

i know a lot of people are saying the full court press is obsolete but if used the right way it is highly effective. I took over morehouse in d2 last year and changed them from man to man to full court and since have brought in 9 of my owns guys to run it. Everyone on my team only has a b-to b + knowledge bc i just implemented it but the key is i play 11 guys ranging from 13 mpg-23mpg. I just forced 29 turnovers against the number 22 ranked team and won by 17. It seems as if as long as you play a lot of guys then the full court press is still best option for defense.

Big difference for you that I see, STL, is that you have somewhat higher def ratings than most press teams I see. And as DEF directly impacts fouls. . . .

The press is fine. Take a look at d2 Allen the top 4 teams all use press and are doing fine with it. Mind you SNH is rated 660ish in d2 and the other teams are very good as well. Press can still be played effectively but the difference is now you have to coach it.

the less than desirable effect from my perspective may just be that while subpar and average pressing teams see worse press results, the best teams may see better press results

I feel that that's probably how it should work...

that is how it is affecting my LSU team. I seem to be doing better than my NT team last year in terms of avg winning margin, but I am noticing it is much harder to beat an equal team on their court

so what are the main ingredients now for success at the press? IQ, sp, ath, stamina and def? which is most important?

Sports--that's the problem. Compared to the other team, your team has less speed, ath, and reb. You do have more stamina which has been my issue. It's become marathon dynasty.

The press hinges as much or more on stamina than on skillz. Fix the press at the source, don't tweak fatigue in order to fabricate results without fixing the problem.

IRL, virtually any college player can play the same amount. Two teams that rotate 10 will see no difference in fatigue. Fatigue will be equal for two teams that rotate 12. It's the number in the rotation that matters more than some fictitious stamina number pinned to their chest. Is HD really saying that no matter how hard some players train, they'll never be able to finish a marathon? Now that's absurd.

The above example shows it's not IQ, spd or ath, so it must be stamina or DE.
