Where do you play this guy? Topic

This is a new recruit's rating projected out to his senior year:

Ath-12
Spd-60
Reb-75
Def-15
SB-50
LP-40
Per-65
BH-35
P-50

At d3, where would you put this guy?

If you are playing triangle this recruit to me would make an interesting Center prospect otherwise if using motion or flex I would at first try SF then if it just wasn't working with his Ath then I would slide him to PF.

In DIII, I'd love to play him at PF.

If I did go after this guy (and I plan to), his ATH seems a little low to put him at PF.  I guess I could but him at SF, but it seems like he has slightly low BH and it might waste his really good REB.  Personally, I would put him at SF in a press 2/3 combo defense, but that's fairly new to me so I might be way off base.

His BH is fine for SF, I just had a guy with a 33bh at D2 average 21ppg while shooting 50%. His reb also won't be wasted, I've had D2 guys with lower rebound ratings at SF average 5 boards a game. He's a great SF.

SF would be nice, but his Athleticism is quite low for a SF. What an interesting change-up it would be if you put him at SG. He has the speed, Low Post, Perimeter, and Passing for it, and can you imagine a SG with a 75 Rebounding?, WOW!!

In DI(Against lower competition, admittedly)  I have played this guy:

Athleticism 67

Speed 83

Rebounding 38

Defense 65

Shot Blocking 80

Low-post 74

Perimeter 26

Ball Handling 29

Passing 54

Work Ethic 86

Stamina 99

Durability 82

A handfull of games at Shooting guard set to minus two, and had some interesting results.  Interesting enough that I might try some things recruiting later on with it.

Of course, imagining a 6'10" 240 lbs shooting guard is a bit odd, but hey.

A in the B,

I don't know about SG with that guy because of his low BH for a SG, but he would make a killer SF.

His is an SF>  Just gioven him a few games against some slower guards with lower defense: THe ones that couldn't take advantage of the BH.

i would play him at SF. yeah, his ath may be a little low, but that burns you more at PF than SF. if i didn't have good rebounders to play the 4 and 5, i would play him at the 4 probably to get the small rebounding boost, but if i recruited that guy my intention would be for SF.

SF is by far the best option. Not athletic enough to play PF or C and would be a waste of a 75 reb to play him at SG or PG. Also doesnt have the ball skills to play at the 1 or 2.

I would like to play him as a super sub being the 2nd option for both the SF and PF. If you had to start him, then either PF or C in triangle or SF in motion/flex. If you look at my Colorado squad in Phelan, I have a couple of tweeners (albeit not as radical as your potential recruit) that make good role players with the split position move (jones sg/sf and hendricks sf/pf).

No offense fatchance, your resume is obviously more complete than mine and I've never had a team as successful as that Colorado team (haven't had a lot of chances yet, still really playing my first recruiting class, but by the same token still pretty new at this).  Nevertheless, I still have to question how a guy with 29 reb and 10 LP (Hendricks) is even a backup PF on a top-5 team.  Very athletic, but without at least some rebounding how far can that go?

Athleticism 56

Speed 37

Rebounding 21

Defense 6

Ball Handling 38

Passing 70

Stamina 78

at division three, what would you do with this player?  I sort of have him being a sub at small forward.

I probably would use that guy as a backup at SF and SG.  Preferably SG - I like my SFs to rebound at least a little better than that.  Of course that defense is going to hurt you at any position.  Depends what offense and defense you're running.  If you're in a zone you can play him at either; in a m2m I wouldn't ever put him in a spot to go up against a decent scorer.  In a triangle offense the guy can score some with that perimeter rating regardless of low speed.
