I just traded a major league player, the other owner has accepted.

Can I DFA the guy I traded, with no waivers, to free up the roster spot? That won't be a considered a demotion and hurt the player's ratings will it? And the trade should still process tomorrow night with no issues, right?

Just double checking, I've never done this before, and it makes me nervous :-)

I have never seen a demotion penalty with a DFA guy, but then again most of the guys I DFA I dont care enough to check up on.  I wouldnt do it unless you have permission from the other owner just out of respect.

I DFA'd him - the help says it's designed for this, so I'm not going to sweat it. There was no penalty.
