Where to Start a Super-Prospect Topic

This guy is the first major IFA I've signed in 11+ seasons:

http://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=3448783

His
hitting projections (not based on my $8M ADV, but based on my $20M INT budget) are as follows:

Cx, Px, vL, vR, Eye

63-92-83-76-84

Defensively, he projects to:

RG, GL, AS, AA

84-89-90-90

My question is, where do I start this guy?  He's already good at 19.  I have a good FI compared to the rest of the world and the following are my minor league hitting coach ratings:

AAA - 71
AA - 74
HiA - 79

Big league coach is 89.

I obviously would like to maximize his development most of all.

Thoughts?

I'd start him in the KC minor league system.

LOL.  I knew you'd pipe in Mike.  At least a couple of the other guys made me pay full price so it appears he or they were paying enough attention - but I'd trade any entire draft class I've had so far in this world for the guy...

Hi A.

Actually it's a pretty simple equation.   Determine what season you think you'll have him in the bigs and work down.   If it's in his 3rd season, start in AA.   That gives him a full season in AA and AAA before the promotion to the bigs.

That's the one that seems to make sense, but I'm trying to find out whether it's more important for him to be at an appropriate level for his ability or with the best rated coach.

+1 to what Mike said.

Personally, I would put him in HiA to start with the option to promote him to AA mid-season.  Take advantage of the superior hitting coach for a short time.

Actually, true to my habits, I didn't see the coach ratings.  HiA.   Skip AA if necessary next year(or AAA the following year) if he's on a 3 year plan.

Even a simpler equation, stop reading after what Mitch says.

high A, agreed.  congrats on the signing.  i'd love to see a guy like that in either of my leagues right now.

I hope he projects a high durability rating.

Wow...$34.5 million is the largest contract I have seen paid in my 5 seasons.  Good place to put your money though.

I've been drafting 31 or 32 all 4 seasons I've been in this world so far.  I actually had not planned on having that much prospect money, but I lost out on every free agent I tried to get (mostly to a division rival).  This prospect is better than any IFA I've seen so far and I would have had nothing better to do with the extra budget.  I lost several Type A and B FA's this year, but the highest pick is #25 (a comp pick to go along with my regular #31).  I would trade any entire draft class I've had so far for this guy.  (Again, that's based on not having any high draft picks).

I'd start him down in HiA, and go from there.
