You are in the AL. Sit him vs weak opposition, play him at DH vs. average opposition, and play him at C vs tough competition (assuming you have another big bat to play at DH). Look ahead in the schedule and plan out how you are going to use him. With that low of a durability you have to carefully manage him to get maximum and most meanful use out of him.
Personally I always value PC over bat, but that's me. And then only if the catcher has arm and accuracy to go with it. Don't undervalue the catcher's defense, everyone loves to set their steal rating high it seems. My perfect catcher has ThP, ThA, and PC all above 80, and hitting attributes of at least 50s (but hopefully much better). If I have a catcher like that it would take a very very good hitting catcher to unseat him. But again, that's just me.
