The Real Life Progressive League is looking for an owner for the SF Giants for our 2000 season. We are starting the draft on the clock on Monday, but an interim manager made the no-brainer selection of Johann Santana for the Giants with the #1 pick in the draft. You will also get the 19th pick in the first round as a result of a trade! The first season started with the actual 1980 teams, and each team has morphed as a result of trades. This is our 20th season and we have a very good group of owners with lots of trading. We expect the draft to start on the clock on the 12th. The full roster and rules are listed below, please contact me if interested.

Rules:
-
Scheduled draft slots are based on your 'Need' # from the Cuts/Keepers List on the Rosters thread. If you keep 19, you get six rounds of picks.
-
If you trade one of your picks, you must wait until the supplemental round to get the extra player, or obtain a pick in a trade. Any draft slots you obtain via a trade, you can use as you see fit.
-
You may trade players and/or 2000 picks for 2001 picks. And when we talk traded picks, last pick does not mean a supplemental round pick, but rather the last pick your team would have based on the needs requirement on your cuts/keepers list.
- The Real Life Draft Pool -- 2000 will contain all available players. If someone is left out of the pool, he is not eligible.
- All rounds are one pick only
- As long as the owner ahead of you has selected, you may pick (except in the 1ST RND, then wait for time slot unless everyone ahead of you has picked)
- The next day (8AM) picks can't begin ahead of time unless all owners from the previous day have picked
- Proxies are encouraged
- All drops will be done prior to the cuts/keepers deadline
- Prospects (players who are WIS ineligible, but did start their MLB career in 2000) can only be selected in the first round. See the real life Draft Pool list. You may maintain only one Prospect until he becomes WIS eligible. If you select a prospect, you will not be awarded another round to pick an active player, and must wait until the supplemental round or obtain another pick via a trade.
- If there are any uneven player deals or prospect selections and you do not have 25 players, you can select during the Supplemental Draft. The Supplemental Draft will begin after the regular draft to fill the holes. The Supplemental Draft will usually occur the day after the regular draft ends. It's first come, first served, but you may only pickup one player per hour.
- Final Roster moves can occur after the Supplemental Draft. This is when you may drop players and pick up someone who was left unclaimed. You may only drop/pickup once per hour.
- The AAA Draft will start after the add/drop portion of the main draft and will be 4 rounds. You can keep your AAA players as part of your next year's roster, but at most you can keep 25 players plus 1 prospect plus IR eligible players.
- It is highly unlikely that once the season has started, any roster error on the part of an owner will be corrected. The bar will be left high.
- Please smail the next 2 owners.
Other rules to remember: You must win 36 games to qualify for the 1st pick in the draft. 35 wins gets you 2nd, 34 = 3rd, 33 = 4th, <33 = 5th. First round only, then by win-loss record.
Tanking is not allowed. Any accusation of tanking will result in the Commissioner and 5-6 other long-time owners, who are not in the same division, examining the results. Punishments, to include expulsion from the league, are possible (it has happened!). Please make sure any removal of good players has a sufficient reason.
NO DH or WW or Cap
Draft order based on record at 120 game mark. For tie records involving two teams, the leader of the season series gets the better pick. For ties of three or more, the best series record wins and winning percentage of the series can be used to break ties. Run differential will be the next discriminator. Picks will rotate each round.
