Projection Question Topic

Do players ever exceed their projections?  I'm a newbie & all I can see are prospects that haven't gotten to their projections yet - most veterans no longer have projections - so I can't tell if they've fallen short, met or exceeded projections.  Just wondering cuz I'm looking at signing some mid 60's players with what I think are not very good peripherals & I want to know if I should bother?

some may exceed projections in a category or two by a point or two...but it is much more common for projections to be missed by a few points in certain categories. also keep in mind how much you have budget in scouting will determine how the projections even are

On this note, what the average amounts that an 18-year old player will see?  Is it unrealistic to expect a 30-point increase in any given category?

I've seen 30 point increases in certain categories, but only for the best players, and typically they project to gain 35-40+ and stall out around 30.

Pitcher durability rarely increases by much especially starters with low starting DUR.

The physical attributes seem to increase less than the coachable attributes.

Garry Pride is the only player I've seen significantly outperform his projections. I had 20M in scouting that year and he was projected (I saved spreasheets) to be:

35/81/34/46/59 with a 56 pitch calling. I got him in the 9th-round and I'm pretty sure he was never a DITR, although I could be wrong and I don't think there's a way to check.

But most players undercut their projections, often by a quite a bit.
