I'm not posting this as a whine, as I won the game. But Morehead State got off SEVENTY-ONE shots in the game despite NOT going uptempo. Please tell me this is an isolated incident, otherwise tempo as we know it is VERY much out of whack.

They only had 68 posessions(Using the fgattempts +.5 ft-oreb+to formula).  Look at their number of o-rebounds;  good number of those shots were probably tip-in attempts, kick outs and the like.

For example

I don't think so, my last 5 games at Marquette have seen me get 61, 66, 51, 66, 69 shots at normal tempo.  The game with 51 FGA was against a sagging m2m defense, which coincidently was the only game we got fewer than 10 offensive rebounds.  Morehead State got 18 offensive rebounds in this game, which provides a big spike in their FGAs. 

This doesn't look that out of whack, and even if it were, I would much rather have too many shots than go back to HD featuring 36-29 scores.

See absolutely nothing out of whack about that at all.
