New Coach Hiring Strategy Topic

For those who have gone through the process since the change, how is it? How many premium coaches were available? I just picked up a new team, and last year's coaches weren't particularly great.  I'm thinking I might have to budget more.

Didn't notice any difference in the number of premium coaches available.  I had to hire approx 7-9 coaches total.  Several coaches demanded same level and role and neither were good enough to be promoted.... stuff like that.  I've heard others say they've gotten through it only needing to hire 2-3 coaches, but in my one offseason experimenting with it I didn't notice any significant change.

I'm about to go thru my first bout with it.  The one thing that doesn't make sense, is that you can't promote w/n your major league team (or guys that want a promotion from AAA to the majors, but you'd like to put them in a different roll).  ie, you're bullpen coach wants to return, your pitching coach wants to leave, you can't offer you're bullpen guy the pitching coach job.  Your AAA hitting coach wants a promotion to the ML hitting coach position, but you can't offer him the ML bench coach position

that's disapointing to hear taz...I wonder if that is working as intended

I'd double-check to make sure you aren't missing something, and then send a ticket in if you aren't, because I don't think it is supposed to be restricted like that, and it wasn't for me (I re-hired my AA PC to my ML bullpen coach position).

Well I don't know for sure, still waiting for the league to roll into the season, I can only see who is willing to come back, who wants to move up, and who wants to test the market.

So far, only the minor league coaches hae a pull down where you can change their offer to something a level or more higher.  There is no option other than to hit offer on your major league coaches.  I suppose it could change once the hiring process starts off in a couple of days.  I'll let you know.

I can hire my AA coach to be my ML bullpen coach it appears, but I don't hink I could hire my ML bullpen coach to be my ML pitching coach.

It also appears that you can only promote to certain roles, ie, it shows that I can offer my AA hitting coach, the AAA job, or the ML HC, 1b or 3b jobs, but I couldn't offer him the AAA or ML BC job.
