I'm wondering, and we wont know right away but how many 1500 point scorers will there be in the new engine?  As IQ has taken on a heightened sense of importance I'm wondering how often we will see freshmen getting over 10 ppg and thus seeing 1500 scores or more.

Also, i know some have said distro is better inthe new engine, but I have nticed no difference.  Vereyone is still somewhere within 3% of their distro but its not what I would want.  I say his because I have tried to bump up a player to make him a top scorer and he just wont go over 18% no matter what I set him at.

Currently I have 2 freshmen averaging over 9 ppg, 1 who is at 9.9. Last season I had a freshmen average over 10 ppg. I really dont know what you are talking about.

Are you talking DI?  Because they will be gone after year 2.  So see, that is what I am talking about.

I think we'll see more, it's easier to for guys to score 20+ now. In nearly 60 seasons in the old engine I had a 20+ppg scorer 3 times, and the same guy twice in the new engine I've had 5 guys in just a handful of seasons average over 20 including 2 on the same team.

Wow, I just suck then, I can't get guys to score in the low post like I used to.

cb, methinks you have too much time on your hands if you are fretting over whether or not you will have 1500 point scorers.

I do agree that EE would make that very difficult,  but then, that has allways been the case.

I agree with kaveman that it seems easier to have bigtime scorers (20ish ppg) in the new engine... at least for perimeter players.

I agree that something has changed  regarding lowpost players and it seems waaay more difficult to have bigmen who are great scorers.

As for the issue of finding it difficult to get your guy to take more shots... how extreme have you been?   have you set him to 100 and everyone else to zero?  im guessing not as that would be silly.  but you may need to set him at 40 or 50 to achieve what you want.  if he is not taking as many shots as you want,  just keep increasing his distro until he does.

Maybe, but you still were saying that you dont see any 10 ppg frosh anymore and I was saying your wrong. I didnt mention the 1500 part of your post because I coach in a world where no good player I have stays in school for 4 years.

I may do that dave.  My season at N. Colorado is a loss at this point so in the last few games I may go for broke on distro.

I had a LP scorer average 22ppg or something like that while shooting 54% last season in Knight. Of course he was a D3 player with a 99 LP. Also in the season that just finished in Phelan I had a C average over 18 ppg while shooting 53% with a 95 LP. I think with LP mattering more, bigs can be even more productive.

hmmmm...  cant you guys let me be right at least once in a while?

actually, now that i think about it,  my offensive obseervations may not be terribly relevant for the rest of the folks who mostly play real offenses.

But, for those who are stupid enough to still be playing the fastbroke like oldavey,  you may find that your bigmen oftentimes dont perform quite as well as you would hope on the offensive end.

any bets on how long it takes until someone chimes in and say they frequently have bigmen on thier FB offense teams  average 40 points per game?

I frequently have bigmen on my FB teams average well in excess of 40PPG.

actually Ol'D I have never had a F'Broke team ever, but I'm sure mine would have averaged well over 40

While my guys didn't average 40, my top 3 scorers on my fb/press team were all center/forwards. The next 5 were my guards
