How exactly does this work? Previously with a D3 team, I sent sufficient stuff to get on someone's list but a Sim team signed him before I could get on there. Is he already locked up if he's only considering one team between the 5PM and 8PM cycles?

If you have plenty of money left, is there anything you can do to get on the list of a player before he gets signed by the team that he is already considering? If you dump a bunch of coin into him will that work?

I've been wondering that myself. I've never tried to recruit someone who's already considering a different school at 5:00 p.m. but I've always assumed it was possible

sorry i didn't see this sooner... yes, you can get on the list. you can't just sign him straight away though, you will still have to wait the mandatory 1 cycle after showing up.

Which brings on a related question.... has anybody ever started recruiting a guy after signing began that was considering two other teams and then WIN the battle?

Yes, you can win. You never know the intestinal fortitude of your competition.   Both coaches could've been considered in the cycle but didn't want to get into a battle and have given up on the player

I think what happened was that my previous experience was that I was trying to pull someone down. 

Another interesting thing happened, he didn't accept my first CV but he accepted the next few. I have never had that happen, but I guess I haven't been around that long or been in too many battles.

I had a situation (just yesterday) where I was in a battle for a recruit with another school for about a day and a half. In the first cycle after players could sign, another school swooped in and took the player, leaving mine and the other school in the dust. What was more interesting is that my prestige is B+, the school I was battling a C+, and the school that arrived late and signed the kid in two cycles was just a B. Spent $14,000 and got nothing, and even promised him a starting position (albeit at the last moment) to try and save him. I'm sure the winning school probably spent less than $5,000 to make it happen.

No way.  They obviously spent much more.

No way.  They obviously spent much more.

Not if the winning school was local to the recruit and the other schools were both at a long distance.

But without that information, the raw dollar amounts don't mean much.
