Promised minutes ? Topic

I haven't had to promise many recruits guaranteed minutes and when I have, I've never been in any danger of making the promise hold up. This season, I might have misread just how useful a recruit was going to be in the preseason. So the question...when you promise a kid, say, 10 minutes a game, is he basing his happiness/displeasure on:

1. The number of games that he gets in where he plays more/less than 10 minutes?

OR 2. The average number of minutes per game played at season's end? (in which case I can jack his PT up for the weak SimAI conference gimmes and probably have no troubles at all...)

minutes per game in games played. i.e. if he plays 4 minutes, 2 minutes, 6 minutes 2 minutes and 2 minutes in 5 of the first 10 games, his average minutes per game would be 3.2 towards the promise of 10 and not 1.6.

So, hypothetically, he could play four games -- 37 minutes and 1 minute (x3) = 10 minutes/game average and he'll be happy at year's end, even though he only played 25 percent of the games at the promised level?

YES, but it would be 15.3% (4 games divided by the 26 game schedule) not 25%.

Assuming he's in every game, he needs to play 260 minutes for the year in order to average 10 min/game.  I've done this, with no problem, by upping his minutes against weak opponents.  The only issue occurs if those weak games are too far apart and he starts complaini

Sweet, I shouldn't have a problem then.

Thanks all!
