Does DFA risk a demotion penalty? Topic

I made a few trade deadline deals and put everyone going away on Rest.

The result is that my ML team is now just about able to field 9 players.

If I DFA the players traded away, is there any risk they'll get a demotion penalty before the deal is approved?  I'd rather be able to rotate/rest players, but it's not worth risking ******* off the owners on the other side of the deal.  The trades will be approved before they players would clear waivers.

I guess I could be screwed if any of the deals were vetoed, but I don't see that happening.

And if someone claims them before the waiver deadline, that won't stop the deal, will it?

Thanks.

If you DFA them it will void out the trades.

That's what I'm thinking.

If they're on rest, they'll only play during an emergency.   At most, it's three games.

My understanding was always that you can DFA the players without waivers and it won't affect the trade (or player ratings).

In fact, I think I've done it.

I think its whichever transaction was 1st.. There was a scenario like this in one on my worlds.

I know you can trade players that have been DFA while they are waiting to clear waivers.  I've done it.  Trade when through without any problems. There was no demotion penalty, but that was just one case, which doesn't prove anything.
