minimum ath for a C? Topic

trying to decide whether to sign this guy or not. I badly need post depth on my team. He has high high potential in both reb and LP, and low high potential in ath, along with a good work ethic. He would complement the other C that I signed fairly well - the other guy would have better defensive and REB ratings as an upperclassman, this guy would have better LP and SB.

Athleticism 14 High   Perimeter 1 Low
Speed 18 Low   Ball Handling 22 Average
Rebounding 56 High   Passing 22 High
Defense 22 Average   Stamina 75 Low
Shot Blocking 57 High   Durability 43 High
Low-post 42 High   FT Shooting   Average

Sorry I didn't see your sitemail.  Must have clicked on it and got distracted, but he could be a solid big man for you.

assuming it's d3, and you need depth, i say go for it.

An otherwise dominant C can even succeed with athleticism in the high teens or low 20s.  Not excel, but succeed, certainly as a backup.

This recruit's core ratings aren't nearly as good as your guy, but i get your point

wronoj - I'm not sure about the depth comment.  This guy seems totally reasonable to be  a starter at DII with all his high potentials and depending on how high his Ath potential is, he could provide good depth at DII (depending on O/D sets).  Is this wrong?

thanks for all the advice, but fortunately I waited to make a decision and a better C target dropped down to me this morning.

mcauley, the SPD/ATH combo is too low for me to like this kid for anything at d2. He's got the skills, but not the body, for d2.

sounds like it's moot anyway, at least in this case.
