Whatever you guys are using to count runs during a game is too small. It rolls over at 255. You show me scoring 102 runs and losing, when it was actually 358 and I won. Consequently, my opponent didn't get to bat in the bottom of the 9th.
Yes, we cap runs scored at 255 (a byte database field). For baseball, the rationale for going over that just wasn't there. It's not a simple change so it's not one we can knock out at the moment. Sorry.

I am the founder of this theme league. Here's the theme description:
"Let's break some records. All offense. Must use exactly these 6 pitchers. 04 Denny Stark Rockies, 77 Frank Lacorte Braves, 49 Marlin Stuart Tigers, 00 Darwin Cubillan Jays, 80 Jack Billingham Sox, 92 Ryan Bowen Astros. All teams at Coors. Division winners / wild cards determined by most runs scored. See forum for details."
As of now, 100 games into the season we have had 3 occurences of a team scoring more than 255 runs. Each occurence is causing problems.
I'm going to go over them one-by-one:
1) 7/28 am - Tumbling Dice at Runspelstiltskin. Tumbling dice scored 358 runs, but because the run counter rolled over, it appeared that Runspelstiltskin was winning 150-102. Runspelstiltskin did not bat in bottom of ninth. Runspelstiltskin got the win but actually lost.
2) 8/21 pm - my inferiority complex? at You Got The Silver. You Got The Silver was up 305 to 156 after 8 and a half innings, but because of the rollover, it appeared that You Got The Silver was losing 156-49. You Got The Silver batted in the bottom of the ninth and scored 13 more unneccessary runs, making the final score 318 - 156. You Got The Silver is now listed 2nd in the Theme League Single Game Team Records for Runs (1 game) with 318. That number should be 305. Also, You Got The Silver's '21 Babe Ruth is now listed as #1 in the Theme League Single Game Individual Records for Homeruns (1 game) with 18. Since 1 of those homers occurred in the bottom of the ninth, that number should be adjusted to 17. Also, You Got The Silver is listed 2nd in the Theme League Single Game Team Records for Homeruns (1 game) with 80. Seven of those homers occurred in the bottom of the ninth, that number should be adjusted to 73.
3) 8/25 pm2 - Tumbling Dice at Brownie's Wallbangers. Tumbling dice scored 266 runs, but because the run counter rolled over, it appeared that Brownie's Wallbangers was winning 157-10. Brownie's Wallbangers did not bat in bottom of ninth. Brownie's Wallbangers got the win but actually lost.
I know this is a pain for you guys. but because of the nature of the theme, "Division winners / wild cards determined by most runs scored", the innings not played (#1 and #3 above) may affect who makes the playoffs.
Is there any way to "finish" those 2 games so that the home team gets last bat?
Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is not. The game and engine just aren't setup to be able to continue a game like that.
We have it on our list to expand some of these data types in a future build, but it's not something that can happen anytime soon.
Sorry. |
